Not cheap, but quality orthodontics aren't cheap

Last month we had an appointment for Braces for my 12 years old daughter, they did the X-ray and quoted us a price (almost $6,000) and they sat up an appointment to clean and to install the braces in 3 weeks. Today we went there on time, they sent us across the street to get her teeth clean before they can put the braces on, at that second office they asked us to pay for the cleaning which we thought it was already included in the quote! even on the quote sheet it did not mention any charge for that just had the date and the time. we ended up paying because if you look real closely to the fine prints on that sheet it shows that all that was excluded of the price. i really did not appreciate that. i really think that they should have mentioned that the cleaning is separate and that i could have done it somewhere else for cheaper, since i am on a budget and it is all coming out of my pocket. no insurance and not through medicaid.

Unfortunately we will no longer be patients at Bird Dentistry and will not become a patient at Braces by Bird. Although close to home and beautifully decorated, we found it so challenging to coordinate care. There was no communication between the Bird Dentistry office that made the referral and the Orthodontics office. This resulted in us having to make 5 separate calls to make a consult and we did not receive a call back. We arrived for an 8am consult and were still waiting at 8:50am to see the provider. I can not imagine the hassle of having to coordinate frequent visits at this locations for orthodontics care.
